Kennedy commits to ACHA’s Sun Devils

 

Trevor Kennedy of the Chase Heat has committed to play for the Arizona State University Sun Devils in the American Collegiate Hockey Association for the 2023-24 season.

The Kamloops product led the Heat with 27 points in 39 games last season. Over four seasons with the Heat, in which he played 97 career Kootenay International Junior Hockey League games, Kennedy had 34 goals and 38 assists for 72 points. He played in five KIJHL Teck Cup playoff games, collecting three points.

“I am very excited and looking forward to this great opportunity I have been given,” said Kennedy. “I would like to thank Brad Fox and everyone in the Chase Heat organization for their time and effort in helping me achieve my goal to play university hockey.”

Kennedy added he enjoyed the competitiveness of the league during his time.Fox, the Heat’s General Manager-Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, said they are proud of Kennedy’s commitment as a player and person while with the Heat. 

“The true test of achieving your goals is seeing it through and now he has been rewarded for the resilience he has demonstrated in his journey,” said Fox. “Trevor will do well and as many have in our program before him, simply did the work.”
