Trevor Kennedy (Chase Heat), Eithan Grishin (Beaver Valley Nitehawks) and Levi Hall (Golden Rockets) have been selected as the Instat Kootenay International Junior Hockey League 3 Stars of the Week, for the period ending Oct. 30, 2022.
Kennedy – Top Forward – The Kamloops product led the Heat with three goals and six points in two games, helping them pick up wins against Revelstoke and Kelowna. Against Revelstoke, Kennedy scored the 3-3 goal with two seconds left in regulation time, then set up Jalen Davidson for the OT winner. Against Kelowna, Kennedy had two goals and four points. Kennedy had the second assist on Davidson’s eventual winning goal on the power-play that gave the Heat a 3-2 lead in a 5-2 final. Kennedy is second on the Heat in points with 11 points in 11 games, and he’s tied for the team lead in goals with five.
Grishin – Top Defenceman – The Richmond product had four assists in three games to help the Nitehawks win two of their three games. They earned wins against Castlegar and the first of back-to-back games against Grand Forks. Against the Rebels, Grishin assisted on the 1-1 goal. Against Grand Forks on Oct. 28 he had two assists, including on the equalizing goal to make it 4-4 on the power-play. Grishin added his fourth assist to give the Nitehawks a 2-1 lead in their 3-2 loss to Grand Forks. In 13 games, Grishin leads all Nitehawks defencemen in points with eight.
Hall – Top Goalie – The Stony Plain, Alberta product won both his games against the 100 Mile House Wranglers and Creston Valley Thunder Cats. Against the Wranglers, Hall stopped 45 of 46 shots, for a .978 save percentage. Against the Thunder Cats, Hall stopped 39 of 40 shots for a .975 SP. For the two games he had a .977 SP with a 1.00 goals against average. Since returning from the MJHL, Hall has five wins in nine games with a .915 SP and a 3.32 GAA.
